ABOUT US
At Williams Welfare our work is grounded in psycho-dynamic principles. We use group living environments to enable children and young people to address the impact of their experiences on their current lives and to work towards breaking the cycle to achieve their full potential.

Williams Welfare believe that a child’s difficulties are rooted predominantly in their past relationships, and that healing can happen through the building of new and safe relationships. We provide an environment where the hurt and damage of a child's past can begin to be addressed.

Williams Welfare are committed to creating an environment where children and young people can have their care, emotional, educational and therapeutic needs met by experienced and informed staff members.
OUR TEAM
Jemmina

Jemmina has 25 years’ experience working with young people aged from 8-21 in a wide variety of services ranging from youth clubs, youth courts, young people's homes/units/hostels, outreach work, after school clubs for young carers, youth participation, young people in care or leaving care, young offenders, young asylum seekers and young people with SEN. She also has years of experience supporting vulnerable adults in both a homeless hostel and as a floating support worker in the community.
During this period, she has also undertaken the management and supervision of social work students and staff members to meet the high standards needed to support young people, giving them every possible chance of a brighter future.
Her belief in the importance of putting young people’s needs first is unwavering as her insistence that being consistent and providing empathy can make all the difference in a young person’s life. This gives them opportunity to grow and flourish in a supporting environment.
Being a trained mental health first aider, Jemmina believes in the well-being of both staff and young people alike. She takes great pride in offering a listening ear and emotional support when needed.
She is a firm believer in a person-centred approach and truly believes that one size does not fit all. Flexibility and Adaptability is a must when working with young people.
Jemmina has dedicated her life to supporting people and actively encouraging them to reach their potential and to dream big.
“I believe you need to encourage and support children, as children are apt to live up to what you believe of them”

Our Ethos
SAFE AND SECURE LIVING WHERE CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE CAN THRIVE AND DEVELOP TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL
At Williams Welfare we believe every young person deserves to have a safe, warm and caring home to live in. This is fundamental for the children to then be able to focus on bettering themselves through education and their careers. It is paramount that our homes run like a ‘family’ environment that promotes healing as well as growth.
Williams Welfare’s main purpose is to integrate young people into the community without prejudice or stigma and to address the behaviours and attitudes that have made life difficult for them in the past.
Our aim is to act accordingly with various behaviours and develop appropriate strategies to challenge inappropriate behaviour. We work closely with several external agencies to help support this further.
